Real time games – Introducing Rocket Server

RocketServer Engine

Multiplayer engine

At Comet Bits we are very passionate about real time applications. Since the start of the company at my home, we start building some labs related to virtual worlds, tile based and multiplayer games. When big projects came to our pipeline we start developing a reliable socket server to handle at least 10 000 of concurrent connected users. Our first lab was based on the zynga game yoville and worked pretty good. After a lot of coding we finally launch our beta version based on a turn based card game.

In the battlefield

Rocket Server now is a complete middleware used for multiplayer games with a lot of features. We build all the persistence data handling and the rooms and zones logic. We had a lot of problems with some synchronization and contention issues but we fixed them with success.

Rocket Server is our middleware for web and mobile multiplayer games and applications. The last feature we develop was the support for HTML5 web sockets and also build code for blackberry protocol!  These are great features because now we can create cross platform multiplayer games.

What is the plan?

The plan now is to create more real time games and partner with any other game studio who want to try our technology to enhance their casual games or game ideas. We are ready now to launch our mobile blackberry version of the card game featured on the web (apps.facebook.com/clubcuarenta) . Be ready to get some news about it.
